Hi guys!

I have this weird problem. I'm backpacking around Asia, now in f'n China. Yesterday i was walking and a big rain started, the cameras was in my backpack.

Today the camera donĀ“t turned on. I tried with other SD card but nothing. The thing is when in put the battery the camera makes the sound of 'taking photo', like 5 fast sounds in a row.

You know what this means?

Thanks!

PS: Sorry about my english.

Oh no...  :'(

I think you know the answer already - the camera is wet, and the circuit is operating when it shouldn't.

You have to wait until you can dry the camera out properly. Then, you hope it will work again.

While you wait for dry weather, you should have the battery OUT of the camera. When it is wet, if the battery is there, it may corrode the electronics. Even if it is turned off.

what about putting the camera in a bag of dry rice ? just make sure the body cap is on tight and the battery and memory card is removed

Don't be silly, he's backpacking! How do you expect him to find rice in China? Oh... wait...

  • Old age causes memory loss. Or worse, memory loss.

We need a damn LIKE button in here!!!  ;D
Take your camera with you dammit. You can't take your next "best photo" if your camera is sitting at home in the bag, now can you?
