Yep - 2.3 is really good! Seems like a great build, very stable, and some of the new features are bloody awesome!

Does one need to uninstall/remove a previous ML version before introducing a new one to the card?

No, it's pretty much just throw all the files of the new ML onto your SD card and run with it :-)

I did a low level format (which was stated in the install instructions) . . . unzipped the files to the card and my  camera won't see them. I will try a copy & paste.

I'd love to tell you all just how I got it to work, but that was more than 5 minutes ago. All good now :) . . .

As an aside, I think it would be nice if ML (or Canon themselves) offer a delete all option. Going through  images and deleting them individually is a bore.

As well . . . did ML up the number of bracketed exposures to 9? I thought it was 7 in the last version.

Nope it was 9 last time as well  :) BUT they did up it because now on manual it can take up to as many shots as required to guarantee complete coverage of the dynamic range... that is awesome I reckon. And it can ignore the 30 second limit which is great for HDR work in lower light situations...

The ML website suggests that, as a new directory structure is used, that the card is at least cleared. A low-level format is probably the best option.

You can also overlay the different bracketed shots in the LCD display to show a JPEG representation of the cumulative shot - very useful  :)
I used to be a very negative person... but then I went digital.

I tried it . . . the display seems too small to really see anything representative of HDR preview.

I don't see why not... I use it on my 32gb card... I know for the older versions of CHDK they didn't advise you using it on anything larger than a 4gb card, but I haven't seen anything restrictions like that recently with ML...
