Memorial Day
« on: May 26, 2013, 10:26:35 PM »
Tomorrow is Memorial Day here in the States.  If you have a relative, friend, whoever, that served and perhaps didn't come home, honor and blessings to their (your) family.  My wife had an uncle Pfc Wayne Paulsen who was killed in Korea (before either of us were born).

Feel free to add your connection if you like, regardless of your nationality, this is an international community.

I was interested to read up about Memorial day since it was mentioned earlier; to summarise the Wikipedia page, Memorial day is specifically for those who gave their lives in service whereas Remembrance Day / Veterans Day is for all participants, whether or not they came home.

I had one distant relative that didn't come home from World War II but of course, I never knew him.
