Olympus E-PL2 Micro 4/3 camera (I bought one)
« on: August 31, 2013, 04:59:02 AM »
my compact camera started going spotty on me so I wanted to try the micro 4/3 format. after doing a bit of research I bought the E-PL2. not because it was the best, it's not, not because it was the cheapest, but it was the best overall compromise.
here are a couple photos I took just as they came out of the camera. the only thing I did was shrink them down for Photobucket. tell me what you think.

From everything that I have heard, the micro 4/3 format is pretty decent :)

They are pretty nice for SOOC...

These look quite nice to me.  Judging by #2 it must have a pretty decent max aperture because that is some sweet bokeh!

  • Old age causes memory loss. Or worse, memory loss.

I assume there is "in camera" editing?  I was wondering about that vignette in #2?

Great shots too!
Take your camera with you dammit. You can't take your next "best photo" if your camera is sitting at home in the bag, now can you?

exactly, it calls them art modes. the first one is called dramatic tone and the other is vignette.

just for kicks, another outing or two with the Olympus.
I could get very creative with this little camera. it's also great for taking everywhere it's so small and doeas a great job all round. I think for serious paid type stuff, I'd want something a little better. makes me think about selling the T2i's and looking into the OM-D E-M1.
