Really off topic.
« on: October 30, 2013, 05:56:20 PM »
Anyone have or researched one of those Robotic vacuum cleaners?  We have a lot of tile downstairs and low carpet in some areas, plus 3 huskies who constantly leave their unwanted hair everywhere.  I'm being lazy and looking for a mechanical thing to clean up the dog hair bunnies.

Yes, I've got one. I like it, but they're not for everyone. I love that they can clean under things, and they're smart enough to find their way around and not fall down the stairs, and park themselves on the charger when they're done. HOWEVER you have to accept that you'll spend a fair amount of time cleaning it out. Mine has a timer by which it can clean at regular intervals, but that seems pointless to me because I clean mine out every time I use it.

I think it would be best for scrupulously clean people with no pets who want to go out in the morning and know that their living space is totally clean when they get home (but don't have to actually clean it out very often). My wife and daughter have long hair, so I have to use the tool to remove long hairs from the rollers on each use. You could argue that with this pain each time you might as well use a 'proper' vacuum cleaner, but honestly the proper one needs cleaning out as well...

Wow, talk about OFF topic. ;)

I have never heard anyone talk about these so for the fun of it, I asked Mr. Google.
Here are a couple of websites that might help you in your decision bud.

Hope they help ya.
Take your camera with you dammit. You can't take your next "best photo" if your camera is sitting at home in the bag, now can you?

Which one do you have?  I've done some research and have narrowed it down to a couple.

Mine's an iRobot "roomba" model 551. I've had it a while now.

That is one of the brands I narrowed my search down to.  Thinking of getting the iRobot Roomba 760, but dang they are expensive.
