Suka - I think that is the best way to do it. I feel it is 100% up to you to decide what is a mechanical thingy and have at it. I did not make up the theme but in my own head I feel that I know what would be mechanical. If someone posts the most incredible shot in the entire history of photography but yet it does not speak mechanical thingy to me then I for one will not vote for it. However, I have an idea that you and everyone else knows what something mechanical can or is so I don't expect to vote for a rising sun because it powers some solar panel that powers some...

Besides that, how the hell are you going to get a close up of the sun?
I'm an old film guy just playing catchup in this digital world. Help me out.

I hear you Skippy.  Driving to work today I kept seeing ideas that may be mechanical thingy type of shots to post.  I have to start taking my camera with me to work.

  • Old age causes memory loss. Or worse, memory loss.
DETOVVOTED
Take your camera with you dammit. You can't take your next "best photo" if your camera is sitting at home in the bag, now can you?

I gotta say to ereuter: although I didn't vote for you last month, your shot looks great on the home page - phenomenal failure on my part to visualize how it was going to look here.  If I had a time machine you'd get my vote!

Never stop photographing. It is very likely that your best photograph has not yet been captured
