Reminder right off the bat. Your shot needs to be 990x415 to be in the contest.
=================================================================================
Got a nice picture you took with your T2i?  Submit it below and the winner's picture will be posted up as the website header for the month of April.

I wish we could throw in a prize but unfortunately, we don't have any sponsors yet.  Bragging rights are always fun to win though!

Also the winner will choose the next POTM`s theme!

Looking forward to seeing what you all got!  The poll will be added on March 20th for the first round of voting.  March 25, 2012 as the poll will be updated so that everyone can vote on their favourite from the top 3 that made it past the first round of voting.

The Theme of this Competition is Night Photography.

RULES

1.  One photo entry per user (so pick your best one!).  Choose wisely as the first photo you submit will be the one judged.  You can't switch photos once one's been submitted.
2.  Photo has to be in some way related to the Theme.
3.  Photo has to be in landscape orientation (as opposed to portrait), preferably 990x415 as this will be the cropped end product (Photos that have a smaller width than 990 or a smaller height than 415 will be disqualified - the reason, enlarging photos degrades their quality).
4.  Deadline for entries is midnight MST on March 20, 2012.
5.  Between March 20 and 25, members vote on their 3 favourites and can update/change their votes up until midnight March 25.  From midnight March 25 to the end of the month, the poll will be reset with the top 3 vote-getters from the first round and members can vote for their favorite.
6.  Moderators can now enter a photo iryn the contest without worrying about conflict on interest, haha.

=================================================================================
Our theme for March will be "Night Photography".

No dusk/dawn shots.  Sorry but we want strictly night shots.    Beautiful pic though!

Are you joking? I'm up for anything with a night theme. Both of these work for me so far.
Can I take a shot at a party I'm going to this weekend? Its night time but we'll all be inside in the soft glow of electric bulbs!

I seriously think we need to either ask the person who chose "Night Shots" to elaborate on what they are looking for or just let people post whatever they want and the voters will choose the best shot that fits with the theme.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Skier, it's just that when you see a dawn or dusk picture, I don't necessarily think one would categorize that as a true "night time" shot.  When people think "Night" I think the majority would consider the sky to be black.  I guess it's debatable though.

I see where you are coming from and generally agree. The more "daylightish" the shot is the less I am likely to vote for it.
Seems we lost the entry that was posted anyhow. I'm just trying to keep the trend going with as many entries as possible I guess.

Now I must get out there and take some Night shots to enter this month!

I'll definitely post something else!  This will inspire me to get out and shoot at night, which is not my habit this time of year.

I am with Parkey on this one. I mean if we went with dusk/dawn then we may as well have sunrise and sunset as I would have to think that at least half the shots would be that. You shot was a very nice shot ereuter but you even knew you was maybe in the grey area so thank you for pulling it and being a good competitor.

Skier - I get where you are at with the party and I would have to say that if that is your interpretation then go for it but I would say right upfront that if it was not somehow telling me that it was a night shot vs a shot taken at night while in a well lit area then I don't think that I would vote for it no matter how great it was. This is, I am only one vote. I play by my own sort of rules. My shot will come at night.

Are those Snipes?

Not sure! I thought they looked like flying juniors but I'm no sailboat expert to say the least.
