Cactus, scorpions, black widows(the spider type).  These are my choices, and only chance of winning a POTM contest.  Oh, forgot about my Huskies?  Huskies and cactus comp?  Anyone else?

If we do any of them I will have to fly down and hire you to be my tour guild. I have considered a trip starting out in Arizona and going in a big circle through Utah for a long time. I just can't see doing that trip if you are not going to put aside about three weeks to do it.

I have a suggestion as to the contest...

How about we PM the photos to the person posting them in the thread like Skippy,

and the names are only posted AFTER the contest is over.

That way, it doesn't become a popularity contest.

Sounds kinda familiar doesn't it Skippy?
I had suggested this but with a small change or 2.  Mainly, it would help if more than one person moderated those kinds of contests. It would just become a ton of work if only one person did this.
In full disclosure though: when I suggested it, it went along with the idea of a One -vs- One contest, which would be a much smaller scale but would be quicker turn around (in theory).
Either way, anonymous entries really are a good idea, if the mods don't mind the extra work load.
Take your camera with you dammit. You can't take your next "best photo" if your camera is sitting at home in the bag, now can you?

Doodle - I so forgot about that idea. I think it is a great idea and I think you should pitch it. I liked it the way you spelled it out to me and I think it would be fun.

As for the secret submissions. I am all for it. We will not do it this month but we will use this month to warm people up to how we will do it. As soon as I see a submission I am going to whack the post and add the shot to the top like I currently do.

I will then start letting everyone know that shots are to be submitted to me via PM link with the info and I will add it to the list.

We will try it out and see how it goes over. I have thought about this in the past as well and now that I see others are thinking it then I think it is time to try it out.
