As I replied to you in a message and hinted at last month, I feel that the POTM has been on the decline for some months now. There have been very few entries and very few votes cast.

Although not a hugely major undertaking - getting images in, downloading them, posting them to my dropbox account and then setting up a poll and including the necessary links - does take some time and I am not convinced that it is worthwhile, particularly as the only 'prize' that used to be available (having the winning image at the top of the Forum) is not now viable as Ryan rarely visits the page. To get him to do so would require even more time and may not happen too speedily.

The other reward, of course, was to name the theme for another POTM which typically would again result in few entries and a paucity of votes.

I am prepared to continue organising the P52 until the end of the year but my spare time is becoming scarcer and I do need to decide where it can most profitably be spent. The POTM organisation does not, with so little involvement from members, place highly enough I'm afraid...

There are a couple of options:
a) One of my fellow Mods could take over the POTM arrangements but I haven't exactly 'sold' it, have I?!
b) Wintergon takes the competition over to the DSLR site that he kindly set up to allow winning images to be displayed as the header.

Apologies for the rambling post. The opinions of others is most welcome...
I used to be a very negative person... but then I went digital.

Snapper, thanks for all the work you had to do since Skippy's departure and Ryan's non-response.  I understand why the POTM shouldn't be continued.  It was fun while it lasted, but understand it takes a lot of your time for nothing.

In the interest of ease, how bout making the member responsible for hosting their photo? My vote would not be biased by the contributor..
