Group photography shoot
« on: October 15, 2013, 05:28:03 AM »
Dear all

I have been asked to take a team photo of some colleagues who are entering a competition for an award regarding a great project they have been working on linked with the rural economy.  A collegue knows I have a keen interest in photography therefore has asked me if I could take a good pic of them to accompanty their bid for the award.  My dilemas are which is the best lens for this?  My nifty fifty or my 18-55mm kit lense?  Also what setting are best?  Higher f-stop to get them all in focus but this reduces light etc. are there any golden rules for photgraphing groups?   I am looking to do this out doors for better light but also to get a nice background in. I ask this as I am not experienced with photographing people.

Cheers all for any tips

Cheers for the links, I shall have a look  ;)   I was also hoping for a T2i Forum perspective as these dudes all have the same camera (or v similar t3i) as well as the same lenses, kit and nifty fifty.

I will stick the results on here.....well if I am happy with them hehe
