Jeeeeez, with 2 outstanding examples of Blue Hour photos here...I gotta ask:
Does the B in Bgray stand for BLUEHOUR or something??  :o
 ;D

(and yes, great shots sir!)
Take your camera with you dammit. You can't take your next "best photo" if your camera is sitting at home in the bag, now can you?

An okay one. I'll get something better before the month and/or contest runs out. :)

f/5.6, 1/6th, lens 27mm, ISO 3200 (Unfortunately it's 3200, it's one of my first T2i shots)

  • Where's the autozoom button?!
One time, this guy handed me a picture of him, he said,"Here's a picture of me when I was younger." Every picture is of you when you were younger. "Here's a picture of me when I'm older." How'd you pull that off? Lemme see that camera... what's it look like? -Mitch Hedberg

Sorry but the date format just has to be day-month-year in the format dd-mm-yyyy.
There is no substitute.
I once prayed to God for a camera, but quickly found out he didn't work that way.... so I stole a camera and prayed for his forgiveness.

I damned well agree!  At my age, if they change that now I am gonna be SO screwed...

My very first HDR! I used GIMP and a couple of scripts.

Dynamic Range Increase. http://registry.gimp.org/node/24500

And an advanced tone mapping script. http://registry.gimp.org/node/5980

I used Magic Lantern's HDR bracketing mode to take 3 shots, a normal, a stop under, and a stop over.

The little bit of noise is the JPG compression, the originals are ISO 100 and clean.

I'm not really very happy with this, but it's the best I could get; it's not very sharp, I think I overdid the small aperture to get the sunstars. And it's noisy although I tried to fix it. I jacked up the colour to make it interesting and draw attention away from the flaws.

Nice clean shot, rpavich!  :)

All of these photos are good but those 2 of bgray are stunners!  :D

I used to be a very negative person... but then I went digital.

Hey guys, can I ask a favor of this little comp that really is just for fun so no big deal if you can't or don't want to comply.

I love merging images as much as the next guy/girl but just to show what blue hour really is can we see an original that has not been merged?  I must certainly am not saying that blue hour can not be HDR blue hour. I just think people might like to see what blue hour really can be before we merge.

But having said that, they are all great merges so don't take it that way at all.

OMG that is STUNNING. No, she can't register. If she shoots like that, she is gonna mop up all the contests and deflate our male egos. We must not have that.  :o

Now seriously: get her registered for Gods sake!  I wanna see more shots from that shooter.  ;)

Working on her Doodle. She is so shy about showing her work and is so unbelievably self critical that it is mind boggling. I just printed out 17 11x14 shots for her that with the exception of one, they are completely stunning. The one that is not is one that she knows is not as it is a people shot that she just had to have for a personal reason but the rest are just killer. I had to beg her to show this one. She will be along at some point though.
