DOCUMENT A SPACE.
« on: March 24, 2011, 10:40:56 AM »
I was set a project in university at the start of my course and just wondered what all of you could come up with.
The project is to make a 1 minute video documenting any space that you think is interesting, the conditions are simple there must be NO camera pans or tills (all static shots) and you can only use sounds captured while filming (nothing can be added in post-production).

Good luck and lets see what everyone can come up with.

Parkey - I guess if that is your idea of "any space that you find interesting" then yes office would be fine, IMHO.

I don't have any video skills but reading this he said one minute video using only stills. How exactly do you do that? I am feeling like maybe I am having one of those brain dead days right about now.
I'm an old film guy just playing catchup in this digital world. Help me out.

He didn't say a video with just stills, he said static shots. That means that the camera don't move while recording.
I think i have an nice idea, hope that i find time to shot on weekend. Is there a deadline?

I'd choose a lift or loading bay.
We used to have a car lift at work to transport cars from ground to 1st floor. (There was no ramp, just the lift).
The important thing is what action to have going on in said lift during the 1 min vid, I shall leave that to your imagination. ;)

I'm not into video yet so if anyone wants to try these ideas feel free.
I once prayed to God for a camera, but quickly found out he didn't work that way.... so I stole a camera and prayed for his forgiveness.

Sorry I've been away for a while there isn't a deadline It'll just stop after enough people enter.

You can use as many different shots as you like but the camera can't move, whatever you are capturing can just not the camera.
