favorite effects

I do mostly portraits so mine may be kinda specific, but what are your favorite things you find yourself doing in post processing on almost everything?

mine is that I like making a duplicate layer and pulling it down to black and white. I then pull the opacity back until I like it. sometimes I'll even use the eraser set at around 20% opacity to bring back some color in certain places.

this one has the black and white layer pulled way back and the eyes erased.

this one's mostly black and white. I just pulled it back enough to give it a little mood.

I dig that first one. I've never tried for that look but I could see trying it with one of my granddaughters here soon.
Thanks for the explanation on how you did it.  I gotta give that a try.
Take your camera with you dammit. You can't take your next "best photo" if your camera is sitting at home in the bag, now can you?

I like Lightroom presets, they make photos look brighter and better in general, especially there are cool on FixThePhoto.com and they are free!)Totally recommend
