Ok, this is COOL.  I love the symmetry of it. And a B&W to boot!
Helluva job dude.
Take your camera with you dammit. You can't take your next "best photo" if your camera is sitting at home in the bag, now can you?

Thanks Doodle!  My daughter is in a photography class through 4H.  I took this while tagging along on her field trip.

I am currently in Basingstoke (UK), and had an hour wandering around taking some snapshots of a few of the old buildings. Sadly only my Android phone and tablet cameras are with me on this trip. You can see the rest of my snaps here:

I love old architecture like that. LOVE it. What the hell are you doing on such a trip without a good camera though? That's just blasphemy!
That said: great shots anyhow. ;)

Thanks, Doddle. Proper camera not appropriate on this trip, unfortunately. Did you see the chequer-board effect in the photos of the church? The first image in the Album shows it in detail and I am really curious - not sure whether they are thin slices of some agate-like material added on or embedded into the material. Never seen anything like that before so I will probably revisit over the next couple of days and see if someone can tell me. Mr. Google will hopefully also help...

Sure did. I loved it too but for it's visual appeal. Sadly, (as with many other subjects) I am clueless on the type of rock that is. I wonder how thick each section of block is? I would think it would have taken forever and a day to make thin slices of that stone compared to cutting them in half or so. I mean...that building was literally covered in them.  I couldn't wrap my head around the man hours it would have taken to undertake such a task!

Turns out that is FLINT, of all things! I also found out that the church is mentioned in one of my all-time favourite books, 'Jude the Obscure' by Thomas Hardy :)

I will try to refrain from rubbing steel up against the walls, just in case...  ;)

Had a chance to see Motley Crue and Alice Cooper for free. Had a friend who is a huge fan of both, so the wife and her went to the concert. I got to play with a city centre with fog, lights and 3 hours without anyone moaning at me, and a spoonful of karma in my favour.

Close, that is the Sunderland spelling, and will do for me, I am red and white from a football point of view. The geordies go for Howay.

Have thrown the rest up on Flickr, will post a link in the main photos bit.

Never stop photographing. It is very likely that your best photograph has not yet been captured
