B&H deal on 1200mm 5.6
« on: August 10, 2015, 11:35:57 AM »
Smokin' deal right now if someone wants to jump on it.  $180,000 used.  Perfect for wildlife photographers like Doodle and Suka.  Read the customer reviews if you don't believe this is the lens for you (they're priceless).

I'm on a fixed income (read:retired).   Meaning I couldn't afford the taxes on that thing!
However, Suka has that money lying around anyhow so I think he should go for it and maybe let his buddies on these forums borrow it once or twice. You know...cuz he is such a nice guy and all. ;)
Take your camera with you dammit. You can't take your next "best photo" if your camera is sitting at home in the bag, now can you?

The reviews on that lens are hilarious!

I will pass on buying one and wait until they bring out a f/2.8 L version...

I'm guessing the price will be equal to most 3rd world country GNPs.   :o

By the time I would have this set up, I think I would be to tired to press the shutter!

Oh, I am just saying that...I am sure I would have MORE than enough energy to press the shutter if I owned this lens.

Asking Santa, the Tooth Fairy and the Kidney Fairy might just about cover the P&P.

As in the fairy that takes your kidney, sells it to the transplant clinic, and leaves you to wake up in a bath tub full of ice?  That would be a good start, but still not enough for that lens!
