Recommend A Lens For Me.
« on: March 20, 2016, 05:45:58 PM »
Hey everyone,

I have a T2i with the factory canon lens and then a 300mm lens.

I like to take lightning shots and day/bright light shots..

I been looking at maybe upgrading my lens. But not sure which lens I should be looking at. I'm really new into this and not sure which lens I should be get. There are so many out there and are those better than the one I have?

What are some things I should be looking at when thinking about a lens?

Thanks :)

I'm assuming the camera came with the 18-55mm lens?  If so, I'd use that for lightening for now.  Don't rush into a lens purchase without first knowing why you want a new one.  The 18-55 is very capable.  Spend some time with it and if you find it is limiting you on the wide or telephoto end, or if you need a faster lens (lower f stop number), then you'll know what to get.

^^THIS^^
Also, when you are considering which lens to get, strongly consider renting it (lots of places on line to rent lens) first to see how you like it and see if it fits your needs. Much better to waste a few bucks on a lens you found out you didn't like...than paying for it and having it sit around.
Good luck!  (I'm jealous. I would love to get more lens but my wife put a halt to that)  ::)   ;D
Take your camera with you dammit. You can't take your next "best photo" if your camera is sitting at home in the bag, now can you?
