Had some products I needed to take some photos of, after peeking around the net I decided to make my own softbox.
Took a little break from the follow focus/focus ring project I'm working on in another thread....

The cardboard version is great, but I wanted something that would hold up for a bit of use. Next best thing is a plastic milk crate replica (the cheapos using lighter plastic, not actually used for milk) and some posterboard.

I cut out the top and both sides, leaving the back and bottom intact. Utilizing some lights I had around, here's how it turned out:



And the first photo of the product (need to make lighting adjustments, but it was effective at eliminating all shadows on the first go):

Lol oops! I forget how these items might resemble something they are not... This is actually a goose call, it would not hold up to an herbal substance being lit in the end very well at all

Ultra invisible 3lb test fishing line . If you look close enough in the first photo, you can see it hanging down - the pencil on top of the box was used to keep the proper tension on the line.

I think i can just make out the thread going round the top edge.

I am thinking of  making something like this myself - does anyone know if these pop up ones are any good.
