For upgrade I need to copy all of this and replace the existing files  on the card, right ?

How does one update exactly? 

I know I am not supposed to delete the files off the card, but rather uninstall and then format the card.

So do I just complete those steps and then install the newer version?

could you add a feature in the next edition? why do you have to hold down the shutter half way for trap focus? what if you want to set up your flash and camera somewhere and when people walk into your focus you can take their pic? hard to do when you have to hold it 8-)

To install an updated version, just unzip (or copy) all new Magic Lantern files on your card and overwrite the old ones. [ http://magiclantern.wikia.com/wiki/Unified/Install#Updating_Magic_Lantern ]
