I am trying to get my external flash to fire with every shot but it only fires every other shot.  I turn off Flash/No Flash but then the flash doesn't fire at all.  Does anyone know what I can do to get it to fire with each shot?

Thanks

Enable the flash from Canon menu.

Seems like the updates have slowed down. Is it just because the software is working so well?

I got a question.  Not sure if it is simply user error, a limitation of my SD card or what.

When using the ML firmware to shoot video, often times it appears the buffer fills up very quickly and i get like 3-5 seconds of video and then receive a message that "movie recording has stopped automatically" or something along those lines.

Is this a setting that is causing this?  shutter speed / aperature / WB?  i have no idea... it would seem that if i take the time to allow the ML to auto WB the shot it is happier and doesnt stop recording as often.

I am using a brand new lexar class 10 32 gig SD card, with the Canon T2i.  I am still running the ML FW from XMAS

i hope it is not that i need to take the time to adjust all the settings before shooting as i use the camera quite a bit to AD HOC film my 16 month old, and he doesnt often give me the time to adjust all settings before filming.  By the same token, i understand that some of the settings need to be adjusted for the scene (ISO, focus) otherwise there is no point in filming

Any help?

It seems like your card can't handle the data that needs to be written.  I would purchase another card like a Transcend from amazon.  I had a problem with my AData card.  It will constantly do the same thing, but my transcend has only stopped on me maybe twice in about a year.

I've been reluctant to install ML because I can't afford to be the first to lose my camera, but this summer, I'll have to because I want to shoot timelapse without increasing shutter count, and I think the movie FPS adjustment to 4fps will be perfect.

Can you help me confirm the boot process, because I want to ensure I fully understand it:

1. With BOOTDISK flag (in camera) not set, camera boots normally whatever is on the card.
2. With BOOTDISK flag set, but SD card is not labelled with a bootable partition, camera boots normally.
3. With BOOTDISK flag set, and SD card labelled bootable, but no AUTOEXEC.BIN file present, camera hangs.
4. With BOOTDISK flag set, and SD card labelled bootable, and AUTOEXEC.BIN file present, camera boots from it.
(AUTOEXEC.BIN program checks firmware version, and only runs if compatible, flashes LED indefinitely otherwise.)

Is that correct?

Can I run ML on one card, and simply switch sd cards to a non ML card to revert to original camera operations. Sorry if this has already been discussed before.

Craig: I think the answer must be 'yes' because you're switching between case #4 and case #2 in my list above, according to which card you have plugged in. Having the BOOTDISK flag set in the camera does nothing if the card is not labelled as bootable.
