Greetings from ATL
« on: February 12, 2012, 05:50:30 AM »
Just found this site the other day and find it very informative! No matter how much I think I might know about this camera- there is always something new that I find.

I was an infantryman, in Vietnam when I bought my first Canon. It was a 'FT' model (that I still have) that came with a 55mm f 1.2 lens. I didn't know much about cameras (I had an Instamatic), but everyone else was buying them (they were about $125) so I ordered one too. Never actually saw the camera until I got back home (the 'World' as we called it). Took a photography class later on and found I liked it.

Later bought an 'A' model body (which I also still have). After a series of digital P&S cameras, I bought the T2i when it first came out. I've probably spent too much on lenses, flashes, gizmos etc, but I still like taking pictures. I need to stop buying cameras though, as I have no place to store any more!! (or at least I should probably sell the older ones).

Welcome to the forums ncg45! It is pretty cool to read a little of your history with the cameras. You have found a great forum here if you take a minute to get comfortable. Lots of photographers here ranging from completely new to very well accomplished. They will all try to help out with a problem and we all love seeing some photos.
I'm an old film guy just playing catchup in this digital world. Help me out.
