photographer-in-training; greetings!
« on: February 16, 2012, 08:28:58 AM »
hello!  this is not only my first time on a forum, but this is also my first time diving into photography (which is something i've been dying to do for years).  i recently purchased a canon rebel t2i and am LOVING it so far!  now i really want to start learning the in's and out's of the camera, and how to really take the best possible shots in manual mode.  if anyone has any tips for me, where i can look on here to obtain as much information as possible, or just to talk - that would be amazing!  i look forward to being a part of all of this and taking this hobby to the next level!

I know its boring but I recommend reading the manual from cover to cover. Generic camera books about aperture, shutter & ISO etc are good but nothing will really help you understand your camera as much as the manual.
I once prayed to God for a camera, but quickly found out he didn't work that way.... so I stole a camera and prayed for his forgiveness.

LENSES - EF-S 15 - 85mm | EF-S 18 - 55mm | EF-S 55 - 250mm | EF 50mm f/1.8 II prime
ACCESSORIES - Manfrotto 190XPROB Tripod | Giotto MML3270B Monopod | YN-465 Flash | Lowepro Fastpack 100 Rucsack

I am going to agree with Skier there. Read the manual and understand all the buttons to make the learning curve that much easier. Anyway, welcome to the forum. Everyone that posted before me is right on the mark with things. Feel free to jump right in there and start mixing in.
I'm an old film guy just playing catchup in this digital world. Help me out.
