Aspect Ratio
« on: May 06, 2012, 04:49:18 PM »
Hello,
With the T2i, I have recently taken a step up and am still on a learning curve. My question has more to do with my lack of understanding than an issue with the camera. I have taken some shots I like, but want to resize them to 8x10" for printing. However, it seems that regardless of the software I use (keeping the proportion the same), I get a 10"W x 6.422"H.
I am sure there is something that is not clear to me, but I've never run into this before using my Olympus C765. I know they're two completely different cameras/technologies, but I thought the aspects are standard.

Can someone please fill in the blanks I am missing?

Thanks,
Jake

The T2i shoots in a 2:3 ratio, eg. 8x12. Just crop your photo in your editing software to whatever size you want, eg. 8x10
