Shooting interiors
« on: February 16, 2012, 02:14:05 PM »
Dear all

The organisation I work for run various projects and I have been asked (informally, non professional format) if I'd like to take some images of the interior of a new design centre we have been heavily involved with.  Basically a colleague and close friend is directly overseeing elements of the project and he suggested I take some pics.  To get to the point, my question is what are the best techniques for interior shooting as well as lenses etc.  A link of the building is below.  Thanks for any tips!

Sorry, not a tip but a question... Who shot the pics on the website, and why aren't they being hired to shoot the finished building?

I'm awesome on the Internet!

They were shoy by our communications team.  Basically the images I take will be for the project file, not for public viewing or publicity, just a record.  I do however want to do a good job :p

Will you have the chance to visit and inspect beforehand? If so, you will be able to assess the light available.

If it were me and all that were required were shots of interior spaces rather than the detail I would take a wide-angled lens (my 10-22mm) and the nifty fifty. I would also take my external flash but be mindful of reflections if there is as much glass visible on the inside as there is on the outside.

Sometimes I find it really difficult to concentr......  ooooooh! a butterfly!!!!
