Hmm,

I'm going to rent the 100-400mm for a weekends motor racing this summer. If I like it that much then I will by.
I will also try out the Sigma 150-500mm (and get a mono pod too!).
I still want the Rokinon 8mm fisheye.
Oh and I obviously want the 10-22mm

That will probably wipe out any bonus/pay rise/savings in one year!
I once prayed to God for a camera, but quickly found out he didn't work that way.... so I stole a camera and prayed for his forgiveness.

CAMERAS - Canon 550D | Canon Ixus 120 IS | Panasonic FZ7
LENSES - EF-S 15 - 85mm | EF-S 18 - 55mm | EF-S 55 - 250mm | EF 50mm f/1.8 II prime
ACCESSORIES - Manfrotto 190XPROB Tripod | Giotto MML3270B Monopod | YN-465 Flash | Lowepro Fastpack 100 Rucsack
SOFTWARE - Picasa 3 | Photoshop Elements 9 | Photomatix 4.0 | Lightroom 3 with Topaz Plug-ins

The dark side is way behind me. There is no looking back at this point. Just wondering but what is it over there that is attracting you?
I'm an old film guy just playing catchup in this digital world. Help me out.

I'd been using my T2i mainly for controlled & well lit video (at ISO 400 or lower), and only recently used it to shoot stills at live events w/uncontrolled lighting. The higher ISO performance, as well as the autofocus was kinda disappointing.  :-\

The main points taking me back are as follows... Better ISO/noise performance, much better low-light AF, a (slightly) bigger sensor w/fewer megapixels, dual card slots (that can record simultaneously, for instant backup), and I can put my SB-800 back to on-camera duty. I also have several G lenses that had been collecting dust.

I'll still hang around here, though! The principles of photography aren't going to be changing any time soon.  ;)

I'm still looking forward to a VERY short lens; the Tokina 11-16 or the Canon 10-22.
I have a Lumiquest Softbox III coming right now but really, I'm not hurting for anything...just more skill as a photog.

Gear wise I'm set...I just have to get out there and put some of this gear to use!  ;D

The only gear I am hoping to get this year is hopefully some NIK Photoshop Plugins. I have enough physical gear already, and until now I haven't invested enough into the software/PP side of my photography.

I intend to buy an 8D body. This may of course need to be move to the 'What Photography Gear Do You Intend to Buy in 2013' thread.

My list:
Low end flash to use as fill lighting when needed
New memory card
Hand strap to replace the neck strap
External Monitor

My "if I run into some money" list:
Wide angle lens, looking at a few of them still

I can check #1 off the list. Just bought a Yongnuo YN-468 II with some yongnuo triggers. Wish I had thought ahead enough to add a memory card to the order. Oh well, probably better to have the $30 now anyways.

Well I adjusted my list a bit. I purchased an Induro AT313 tripod with a BHD0 head instead of the Giottos. I am impressed! I also have heard there may be no more 7D line and the 8D is a fantasy. The 70 D is the next king of the crops so I am told and it will or may inherit the 7D AF system. If this is true Canon s focusing more on upgrade paths and not having a mid to pro level group floating out there by itself with a crop. Makes sense…where so you go after the Rebel series? The x0D series of course. We'll see if and what it looks like.

Wishlist revised?
