Hey hey, I was interested in making a DIY jib which I came across on youtube by "the frugal filmmaker"

He uses an old video camera with flip out LCD screen as his external monitor. Has anyone built/bought their own jib and attached a monitor to these? What would you recommend. It doesn't have to be amazing, just good enough to check everything is in focus. Also, how do you go about powering these?

alrite you shminky-pinkys !

I went off to ebay and picked up a 12V power supply and a 3.5" monitor

got the idea from this guy here---------->
Dirt cheap $28 3.5 inch DSLR Field monitor - DSLR FILM NOOB

now he has it working with magic lantern, but with mine it seems to go off after a while, but works fine with my SD card which doesnt have magic lantern. anybody have any suggestions why?

EDIT:

Just been into the menu and it says "USB monitoring" so i turned that off. Also I pluged the monitor in after the camera was turned on and now it seems to work :)
