Magic Bullet Looks vs Colorista 2
« on: January 22, 2012, 11:18:11 PM »
Hi guys,
I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to ask this, but what exactly is the difference between "Looks" and "Colorista II"?

They seem to be both color grading tools.  Colorista looks like a lot of manual work to get things done using color wheels, while "Looks" has a separate interface and presets that you can tweak around with.

Is it a matter of  using automatic vs manual color control when it comes to these 2? Or is there more to Colorista than just manual control?

I'm thinking of getting one or the other, but don't want to have to end up getting both just to find out that their essential goal is the same thing.

i won't lie I have both and I usually just end up in looks.  I think looks has more "ready to go" settings that you can tweak to get the desired effect.  Colorista2 is pretty powerful though, but I end up in Looks more than often.  Even though Looks is a memory hog if you don't have one of those graphics cards that can use its engine.
